STEPS & STAIRS

Add Functionality and Beauty with Masonry Steps and Stairs

Masonry steps or stairs are one of the most durable ways of building a beautiful set of steps that will last a lifetime. There are many different materials that can be used to build masonry steps. Some of these materials include brick, stone veneer, and concrete blocks. Brick by Brick repairs and builds masonry steps and stairs that are both functional and can add to the beauty of your home. We also build ramps.

Replacing Existing Masonry Steps

When existing masonry steps are replaced, the outer shell is usually torn to the foundation at ground level.  The existing footing and foundation (if in good condition or repairable condition) can be reused. If installed properly, the footing and foundation that is below grade is usually in good shape. It is insulated by the earth itself and not exposed to the weather and the elements as the other portion of the steps from ground level up.

Masonry Veneer Walls

Masonry veneer walls consist of a single non-structural external layer of masonry, typically made of brick, stone or manufactured stone. Masonry veneer can have an air space behind it and is technically called "anchored veneer". A masonry veneer attached directly to the backing is called "adhered veneer".
